Conditioned Media
Custom Conditioned Media for Protein Expression
Since 2000, Texcell has been providing custom media production to members of research institutions and the healthcare industry. We understand the critical need for tailored, high-quality media formulations that support your research and production goals. Whether you’re developing novel therapeutics or optimizing cell culture processes, our conditioned media is specifically designed to meet your needs, ensuring that your experiments and production workflows run smoothly.
What is Conditioned Media?
Conditioned media is a type of culture medium that has been “conditioned” by cells, typically through the secretion of various proteins, cytokines, growth factors, and other biologically active molecules into the medium. The result is a rich, nutrient-dense environment that provides essential factors to support cell growth, differentiation, and protein expression. Conditioned media has applications across a range of biotechnological and pharmaceutical industries, including gene therapy, monoclonal antibody production, stem cell research, and more.
Tailored Protein Expression
At Texcell, we specialize in offering conditioned media that expresses specific proteins tailored to your needs. Our custom solutions can provide media containing the exact factors your cells require to optimize your cell culture systems or protein production workflows. By using our conditioned media, you benefit from:
- Optimized Cell Growth: We utilize your media formulations that promote healthy, high-yield cell growth with specific proteins that may be necessary for your unique processes.
- Specific Protein Expression: Our conditioned media is designed to support the expression of proteins critical to your experiments, such as growth factors, enzymes, cytokines, or antibodies.
- Consistency & Quality: We ensure that every batch of conditioned media is rigorously tested for quality and consistency, so you can rely on the media for reproducible results in your experiments or production.
Our Process
- Client Consultation: We begin by discussing your unique requirements, including the proteins or factors you need in your conditioned media.
- Cell Line Selection: For the cell lines, our clients send their cells to the Texcell facility to begin project initiation. Or, the client may purchase cells from a reputable cell line repository and have them shipped directly to Texcell.
- Conditioning & Harvesting: The cells are cultured in optimized conditions, and the media is carefully harvested once the desired proteins are sufficiently expressed.
- Testing & Quality Control: Specifications for each batch of media are carefully established in collaboration with the client to ensure specific needs are met. Various test methodologies are available to ensure the media performs to these specifications. For example, ELISA is often used to screen for the level of protein secreted. Each batch of material produced is minimally tested for protein concentration, activity, and sterility.
- Delivery: Finally, we deliver your conditioned media—ready for use in your internal media formulation, whether it’s for research or large-scale production.
Why Choose
- Customized Solutions: We tailor each batch of conditioned media to your specific protein needs and application.
